Free eyewear Care Home Residents

If you live in a care home, you may be eligible for an NHS optical voucher to help reduce the cost of prescription glasses or contact lenses.

At Connect Eyecare, we make the process simple. Our team can check your eligibility and guide you through every step, ensuring you receive any NHS support you are entitled to.

You may qualify if you:

• Are eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher (our optometrists can confirm this for you)
• Receive, or are financially dependent on someone who receives, qualifying benefits such as:
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)
  • Universal Credit
• Hold an NHS certificate for full or partial help with health costs (HC2 or HC3)

If you are unsure, our team will be happy to review your circumstances and confirm what support you may be entitled to.

You may be entitled to an NHS Complex Lens Voucher if you require specialist optical correction, including:

• High prescriptions (±10.00 dioptres or above)
• Specialist bifocal lenses
• Prism-controlled lenses

This voucher helps reduce the cost of complex prescriptions. Current NHS contributions include:

• £15.81 towards single vision lenses
• £40.57 towards bifocal lenses

Complex lens vouchers are available where clinical criteria are met and the patient is not eligible for a standard NHS optical voucher.
