Free Eyewear for Care Home Residents

If you are a care home resident, you may be eligible for an NHS optical voucher to assist in reducing the cost of prescription glasses or contact lenses.

At Connect Eyecare, we simplify the process for you. Our team can check your eligibility for eyewear support and guide you through every step, ensuring you receive the NHS assistance you are entitled to.

Who May Be Eligible

You may qualify if you:

- Are eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher (our optometrists can confirm this for you)

- Receive, or are financially dependent on someone receiving, qualifying benefits such as:

  - Income Support

  - Income-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  - Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)

  - Universal Credit

- Hold an NHS certificate for full or partial help with health costs (HC2 or HC3)

If you're unsure, our team is happy to review your circumstances and confirm what support you may be entitled to.

NHS Complex Lens Vouchers

You may be entitled to an NHS Complex Lens Voucher if you require specialist optical correction, including:

- High prescriptions (±10.00 dioptres or above)

- Specialist bifocal lenses

- Prism-controlled lenses

This voucher reduces the cost associated with complex prescriptions. Current NHS contributions include:

- £15.81 towards single vision lenses

- £40.57 towards bifocal lenses

Complex lens vouchers are available when clinical criteria are met, and the patient is not eligible for a standard NHS optical voucher.

We’re Here to Help

If you are unsure about your eligibility for eyewear or what support you can access, our friendly team is here to assist. We will guide you through the process clearly and professionally, making everything simple, straightforward, and stress-free.
